PCT Filings

More than 200,000 international patent (PCT) applications were filed in 2013 according to WIPO in Geneva (World Intellectual Property Organisation). This is the highest number filed annually so far in the history of the PCT system.
The top 4 countries were the USA with 28%, Japan with 21%, China with 11%, and Germany with 9%. The UK was seventh with 2.5%. The companies filing the most were Panasonic, ZTE, Huwaei, Qualcomm and Intel.
