Copyright

The basic form of copyright protects literary, dramatic, artistic and musical works. There are also other forms of copyright which specifically protect such things as the layout of circuits on semiconductors, and performing rights of musicians.

Copyright is an automatic right (similar to Design Right) in that it does not need to be registered, and can be effective almost everywhere in the world.

There are, of course, rules which must be met for something to qualify as having copyright.

There are also various simple ways in which you can improve your legal position.
